Residency Requirements in Nicaragua
Should you desire to move to retire in Nicaragua, you will be happy to know that the government of Nicaragua, encouraging retirees to come to the country have facilitated the immigration process.
To retire in Nicaragua, you must meet the following:
Be at least 45 years old
Show an income of at least $600 US per month from outside of Nicaragua
If you meet the following requirements, you will obtain a Retiree Resident Visa, also known as a Residente Pensionado.

The following documents, translated and authenticated are required:
- Birth certificate
- Proof of income/funds
- Marriage license
- Health certificate
- Passport
- Passport photos
- Criminal record from your country of origin
- Carta de Baja
There will be fees charged by the Nicaraguan Department of Immigration.
Prepare all the above documentation and have photocopies of these documents
before you actually go to Nicaragua. Stay organized with your documents
and track the names of the people you deal with.
